  • Staged hundreds of her students on Musical programmes

  • Organized Silver Jubilee programmes of music and dance ar Carmel School, Port Blair in the capacity of Music Teacher.

  • Lead performer at "Padi Vizha" during last Sunday of December every year in "Vetrimalai Murugan Mandhir" of Port Blair, Andamans for the past 10 years by singing series of "Thiripugazh".

  • Best singer at Swathithirunal Krithis competition at district level

Experience

Smt. Subbulakshmi Sekar has earned a Graduate degree  from College of Music, Madurai in Tamilnadu, India. She has about 40+ years of experience in promoting classical, folk, bajans, patriotic and light music to hundreds of her students in various languages like Hindi, Tamil, Telugu. Malayalam, Kannada etc. She has been conferred the honor of The Best Performing Artist in Andaman and Nicobar Islands by Andhra Association, Port Blair and received the award from the Hon'ble Lt.Governor of A & N Islands.

 

She is presently settled in Chennai and continues to propagate Music to interested students, both domestic and international across a range of all age groups through online collaboration tools and in person.

 

 

  Publications

  • Envisioned, composed, lent her voice and created a music CD on Shiva Pradoshan songs that are used in temples around Andamans and Chennai

  • As a avid participant in religious functions, Smt. Subbulakshmi Sekar created a book on Varalakshmi Pooja procedure and songs

  • As an enthusiast in wedding functions, a book on 'Wedding songs (Kalyana Bhakti padalgazh)' has been published

  • A book titled 'Nitya Pooja Vidhanam' was published with details of performing daily pooja (prayers) at home with mantras and descriptions

    Concerts

  • As an approved artist of All India Radio (AIR) in Light Classical section, rendered several concerts in All India Radio (A.I.R.) Port Blair

  • Rendered several musical concerts across Andaman & Nicobar Islands

  • Latest concert was in Chennai for Lakshmi Magalir Mandram in 2014
